About Us

So What? That's just one of the questions people have come to New Hope with over the years. "So what?" is a fair question, given the radical call given by Jesus to people who would follow Him. One thing we can promise you is that at New Hope you'll find room to explore your faith, to ask questions, and to come away knowing more about God. We've tried to strip all the unneeded traditions away from what we do when we come together and focus on enjoying our gathering together to worship God and to learn about Him and His plan for our lives. So we've set the church up around four words: Come, Connect, Commit and Care.  Here's a brief overview of each, you can follow the links and learn more.

Come

Just like a front porch swing, we've tried to make our gatherings on Sunday morning a place to relax and enjoy. Don't dress up! Casual dress is the order of the day. Our worship is enthusiastic and joyful. Our fellowship is real. And you might hear a sound that would get you a stern look in some churches - Laughter. Come as you are, but prepare to leave changed. (...more)

Connect

People need people. Even God said that it wasn't good for Adam to be alone. So it's only natural that a place where people meet to learn about God would also be a place that thrives on bringing people together. New Hope is a warm and accepting congregation that lives out the "one another" passages in the Bible. Are you familiar with those? Well, our favorite one says "they will know you're following Me because of your love for one another." It's real. So we provide opportunities for people to develop the deep and lasting friendships that ought to be part of every person's life. (...more)

Commit

As you learn about New Hope, and if you decide that this is the place God wants you to join with other Christ-followers in helping change this world for the better, then you'll at some point decide to make that decision known. Many of us have been at churches where we either didn't have a clue as to how to commit, or once we did, everyone just assumed that we had been zapped with the "got it all down pat" ray. At New Hope, we provide a path from wherever you are in your walk with God toward where you want to be. The only limiting factor in how close you grow to God is you. People who do commit to New Hope membership are required to go through a "New Hope Starts Here" class. There you'll learn our history, what we believe, how we get things done, and come away with everything you need to make a decision. (...more)

Care

The natural progression of a growing faith in God should be not only a greater reliance on Him but also a greater expression of love for Him and service to others. In the book of James, found in the New Testament portion of the Bible, the writer states that faith without an expression out of love is dead. When Jesus was asked about the greatest commandments He said "Love God with all your heart, with all your mind, with all your soul, and the second is like it - Love your neighbor as yourself." So it's not enough to love God and wait indoors for HIm to set the world right. Love is action! At New Hope, we are growing in our desire and our ability to do acts of service to our community. We also sponsor missions trips that take people far out of their comfort zone and into places where they can do good. (...more)
